Merry Christmas — Magda Soup Kitchen

With less than a week to go before Christmas and with the festive season well under way, the team at PENG coin are proud to share some fantastic news. Emile Dunn and Quintin White, based in South Africa, are two hard working members of the PENG coin team. Over the last few months, Emile and Quintin have been visiting, volunteering and donating on behalf of PENG coin to Magda’s Soup Kitchen, an incredible charity in South Africa aimed at providing much needed supplies to hundreds of families in the poorest regions around the country.

Part of the donation work for this particular visit was the distribution of Christmas packages to 500 homeless families. This staggering logistical and humanitarian effort was carried out by Magda’s team, Emile and Quintin over three different locations; Kat se Gat, Simondium and Wellington. The parcels contained a number of essentials including toiletries such as toothpaste, soap and shampoo as well as beverages, vegetables, rice and meat. A local company, Imperial, graciously sponsored a truck to transport the supplies to the necessary regions. Finally, the all-important ceremonial cheque for 2,500,000 PENG was donated to Magda by Emile and Quintin.

At PENG coin we are eternally grateful for the tireless work that Magda does every day for these families. The impact that these humanitarian efforts have on so many hungry, homeless and desperate people is immeasurable. We hope that the pictures taken convey the scale of the problem being addressed as well as the critical need to do so. Christmas is a time to celebrate family, friends and loved ones. It is also a time of goodwill to all people, especially those less fortunate than ourselves. The team at PENG coin would like to extend our warmest gratitude to our community for the support and generosity they have shown and continue to show as 2018 draws to a close.
